A] Personal Details

1] Your Name?

Fluke

2] Your 2 Leggeds Names?

Mum and Dad or I’m and Er.

3] What type of K9 are you? [Breed]

Border Collie

4] How Old Are You?

12 years old March 6th this year

5] Do you run your household?

Most definitely!

6] Do you live inside or outside the house?

Inside, my Mum and Dad would never leave me to live outside.

7] Where about in the world do you live?

Devon, England

B] Exercise/Play Time/Adventuring

8] How often do you take your 2 leggeds for a walk?

Usually one long walk.

9] Do you vary the walks or trek the same route every day?

Dad takes me on the same one if it’s his turn, but Mum likes to go to different places.

10] Do your 2 leggeds allow you to talk to other K9’s on your walks or do they huff and puff behind you and urge you to hurry along?

Most of my walks always have a time when I’m off the lead, I like talking to other dogs but not the grumpy ones. They usually let me wander at my own pace but mum huffs a bit on our way back, though I think it’s because she’s getting old!

11] Are you allowed to do ‘stuff’ on your walks freely?

I never roll in anything unless it’s the sand or a frosty field. I do love wandering in and out of the trees and going in the sea when it’s warm then rolling in the sand, this makes Mum a bit cross because she has to bath me to get all the sand out.

12] Have your 2 leggeds ever embarrassed you? If so how?

Luckily I do not eat poop – how revolting, no I’m more refined than that, I like eating tissues, it’s amazing how many you can find on a walk, this makes Mum and Dad jump and shout so they must find it funny as well!!

13] Do your 2 leggeds expect you to fetch the ball/toy every time during soft/hard play?

I expect them to throw the ball but when I’ve had enough then I leave it and they say “Where’s the ball, they’re expensive ( I have the Kong ones )” So I tell them “It’s down by the water…ooops! The tides taken it, it’s always Mum who gets her feet wet!!

* Do you have favourite toys and if so what are they?

image3

I like all my toys but they have to be soft and I don’t rip them to pieces now I’m grown up, this is my favourite at the moment.

14] Are you loved every day?
Fussed over?
Tickled?
Cuddled?
Played with?
Made to feel special?

I’m definitely loved, I’m cuddled, played with, they’re always fussing over me. I don’t like being tickled but l love being scratched all over.

15] Do your 2 leggeds take you away on holidays with them?

Mum and Dad would never go on holiday without me.

16] Do you get to pick where you go if they do?

I don’t get to pick where we go but they always choose places which likes pets, we always go a roamin and a gloamin and my walks our very long, nearly the whole day though not continuous.

C] Eating/Food/Treats

17] Are you given treats? Too few or just right? What are your favourites?

I have a few treats but I do have to watch my weight, I always have a roast dinner on a Sunday but they won’t give me any potatoes and every night I have three dog biscuits before bed.

18] Are you fed a nutritional diet?

I have Royal Canin weight control.

19] Is your food moist or dry or both or even the raw meat diet?

I have it dry but there’s plenty of water, though I think the puddles taste best.

20] Do you enjoy it or is it boring?

I suppose it seems boring to the humans but it’s alright.

21] Do you eat it every day, or sometimes refuse to?

I have it twice a day and they have a special cup so it’s always the same amount, I eat all of it as soon as it’s put down, I did have a bit of trouble when I had wobbly teeth but Mum and Dad didn’t know that and it’s alright now.

22] Are you allowed to sample your 2 leggeds food?

As I said before I have a Sunday dinner and if Mum does a midweek roast I’m allowed to have some. Sometimes she cooks sausages and says “Oh I seem to have done one too many” my ears always prick up at that, I think she does it on purpose.

23] Do you eat your food when you are expected to, or when you wish to?

Yes I eat it as soon as it’s put down.

D] Your Personal K9 Stuff

24] Do you have a favourite piece of 2 legged clothing and if so, do they know?

No I’m too grown up now.

25] Go on be a Devil – tell us what it is ….?

When I was little I used to take the dirty clothes, socks and sometimes underwear but … don’t tell them …

26] Do you deliberately play up at times, just to annoy or worry the 2 leggeds?

I must admit that I do play up sometimes, I don’t want to annoy them but I think they should be scratching my back all the time!

27] Do you have a bed?

Yes I have a bed in the lounge, one on the floor beside the bed, one in the car and a sulk rug.

28] If so, do you sleep in your bed, or their bed, or the couch or all three and more?

In the daytime I like to sleep on the couch but if I get turned off then I go on my sulk rug.

At night I get on their bed but as soon as they’re asleep I get on my own but I always have to make it, Mum seems to think I have to have it flat but I like it scrunched up so Dad falls over it when he gets out of bed!!

29] How much alone time or ‘just you’ time do you have?

I have a lot of me time, if I’m on my sulk rug they leave me alone.

30] Do your 2 leggeds make you dress up?

* For which holiday or festivity is this applicable?
* Pose for pictures?

No, never and I wouldn’t, my coat is too beautiful to be covered up.

31] Do you actually enjoy it or simply tolerate it because it appears to please them?

There aren’t any.

32] Do you have a friendly vet?

I have very friendly vets, though I prefer the female ones because they call me handsome and give me a treat.

33] What would be your perfect day?

My perfect day would be walking on a warm (not hot) day, just ambling along and then lying in a hole behind the flowers which Mum can’t see, I can never understand how the hole is always filled in the next day after I took so long to get it just right?

In spite of everything … the manipulations and the training you must subject them to – are they happy that you are there to mentor for them?

Finally, in your own words tell us something about both you and your 2 leggeds that the questions haven’t touched on or asked about – something unique …

I like living with my Mum and Dad, they rescued me when I was a puppy and I’ve been with them for eleven and a half years now. Henry already lived here and he use to let me cuddle into him, there was also a pesky cat and she did wet farts and boy did they stink.

A year after me, Mum and Dad rescued Max, he was a bit of a diva, never liked the wind in his hair but I do. They’re all gone to pet heaven now so there’s just me and Mum and Dad but they do spoil me and I always watch over them.
