B] Exercise/Play Time/Adventuring
8] How often do you take your 2 leggeds for a walk?
“If it’s a nice day we go for a looooong walk, but we are lucky and have a nice garden with a lawn and lots of places to explore.”
9] Do you vary the walks or trek the same route every day?
“I love to do the Derwent Walk, along old disused rail tracks, there are lots of other dogs , and deer, there.”
10] Do your 2 leggeds allow you to talk to other K9’s on your walks or do they huff and puff behind you and urge you to hurry along?
“No, he likes me to socialise as much as possible, people tend to stop him when they see me anyway, I’m quite famous now you know.”
11] Are you allowed to do ‘stuff’ on your walks freely?
“I’m allowed off the lead on the meadow, because there are no cars there, but I’m on a long extendable lead for the rest of the time.”
12] Have your 2 leggeds ever embarrassed you? If so how?
“One time he got angry when I found a lovely big black bath, he made me go in the clear bath when we got home.”
13] Do your 2 leggeds expect you to fetch the ball/toy every time during soft/hard play?
“I like to find a nice big stick, one that’s too big for me to carry, and then make him carry it for me, I like to get rid of the stick just before we get home.”
14] Are you loved every day?
“YES , I wake up (in that big bed that he likes so much) and then he takes me downstairs and feeds me outside, then we do photos and videos for the people who smile, and then we cuddle on the sofa at night watching stories about dogs and people.”
15] Do your 2 leggeds take you away on holidays with them?
“I don’t know yet, I’m only 10 months old, but I did go to my Dad’s Dad’s for Christmas and new year and when Dad’s Dad was poorly sick we stayed there until he was better, he’s a nice old man but says NO too many times.”
16] Do you get to pick where you go if they do?
“I just get in the car.”
17] Are you given treats? Too few or just right? What are your favourites?
“I like digestive biscuits and brown bread, my favourite is whatever Dad is eating, I climb up his leg and squeak in case he forgets to leave me some.”
18] Are you fed a nutritional diet?
“I eat whatever I get given, I’m not fussy, we usually have Wagg or supermarket own, but we get cooked meat whenever the humans have it.”
19] Is your food moist or dry or both or even the raw meat diet?
“I never have raw meat, I eat dried dog food, and then fresh vegetables or scraps.”
20] Do you enjoy it or is it boring?
“I never get bored, I’m a Frenchie.”
21] Do you eat it every day, or sometimes refuse to?
“Like Dad, I never refuse food.”
22] Are you allowed to sample your 2 leggeds food?
“Only sometimes, cos Dad likes onions a lot, and he says they are not good for me, and the chocolate and raisins is a big NO !!!”
23] Do you eat your food when you are expected to, or when you wish to?
“Oh Dad fills the bowls every morning and we just eat when we are hungry, it usually lasts until about 9 pm.”
D] Your Personal K9 Stuff
24] Do you have a favourite piece of 2 legged clothing and if so, do they know?
“I like Dad’s baseball cap, because when he puts it on it means that we are going for a walk.”
26] Do you deliberately play up at times, just to annoy or worry the 2 leggeds?
“I like to wait until a very exciting part of a TV programme and then demand to be outside 🙂 “
27] Do you have a bed?
“Yes, I sleep in a lovely king size bed , but I also have a crate with a bed in case Dad goes to the shops, and I have 2 more beds in the kitchen and living room , but I usually sleep on Dad’s lap.”
29] How much alone time or ‘just you’ time do you have?
“I don’t like to be alone, I’m a Frenchie.
30] Do your 2 leggeds make you dress up?
“Does he? He always said he wouldn’t dress a dog, his previous 3 dogs were Rotties and they never wore anything but a collar , but the people who smile like to see me in clothes, so he has all sorts of costumes and rainbow regalia which he puts me in, I keep it on for a few minutes to make him happy, unless it’s my bat dog costume, I never want to take that off, I love the cape, it makes me feel safe.”
32] Do you have a friendly vet?
“Dad got rid of my vet because they were idiots, they gave me out of date medicine and made me poorly, Daddy was very angry on the phone and I went to a new vet who gives me treats when I see him.”
33] What would be your perfect day?
“Sleeping, waking, playing with Milo and Riley, getting cuddles, eating a carrot, walking to see the big horses, snuggling up on the sofa and then going to the upstairs world to sleep, oh , hold on, that’s every day!!“
In spite of everything … the manipulations and the training you must subject them to – are they happy that you are there to mentor for them?
“They love me, but I don’t like it when I get my ears cleaned, but it’s worth it for the treats.”
Finally, in your own words tell us something about both you and your 2 leggeds that the questions haven’t touched on or asked about – something unique …
“My Dad started my HUGE Twitter Account to spread awareness of his organisation STOP-Homophobia which helps people who get bullied or who live in fear. I help him by looking cute and spreading his work to sections of the community that may not have heard otherwise, so for example last week he asked me to tell people that follow me , about the new FREE HIV tests by mail, and thousands applied for them, that helps people because if you know you are poorly sick you can do something about it. I like helping, it makes the people smile more.”
My genuine and sincere thanks to Trevor Le Woof and Kel for taking part in our K9 questionnaire. If you don’t follow Trevor on his Twitter account, have a stop by … he is one hell of a cutie and way more photogenic than l am, Dad is always envious.
Check out STOP – Homophobia as the work there is integral to stopping taboos and ending stigma, and bullying.. and that is something my Dad is big on too.
